Terms of Service

Last updated: August 18, 2026

1. The service

thread is a private journaling app that captures your memories, connects them over time, and generates daily insights. By using it, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. Your content

You own the content you create in thread. You grant us the limited right to process and store it to operate the service — including sending it to AI providers to generate the insights you see. You're responsible for what you write, and you confirm you have the right to store it.

3. AI-generated insights

Insights are generated by AI models and can be incomplete, imprecise, or simply wrong. They're a reflection of your own words, not professional advice. Don't rely on them for medical, financial, or legal decisions.

4. Subscriptions & payments

thread is free to start, with an optional paid plan (PRO). Payments are handled by the app stores (Apple App Store / Google Play) and verified through RevenueCat. Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your device's settings. No refunds are offered for partial billing periods, except where required by law.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use thread to break the law, harass anyone, or store unlawful content. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms — but your content is yours, and we don't read it except as needed to keep the service safe and working.

6. Changes & availability

We may update these terms from time to time and will post the updated version here. The service may change, and we can't guarantee it will always be available — we'll do our best, but there's no uptime guarantee.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind — express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.
