1. What we collect
When you use thread, we collect the minimum needed to make it work:
- Account information — your name and email when you sign in (via Clerk; Google or Apple sign-in is supported).
- Your content — the memories, notes, and voice captures you record in the app, plus the threads we build from them.
- Device information — a push-notification token so we can deliver the insights you ask for.
- Subscription status — whether you're on the free tier or a paid plan, verified through the app stores.
2. How we use it
Your content powers the core of thread: connecting related memories into threads and generating the daily insight. To do that, we send the relevant text to an AI provider (DeepSeek) for processing. Your content is used only to serve you inside the app — we don't use it to train models or build advertising profiles.
3. What we share
We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for advertising. We use a small number of trusted processors to operate the service: Cloudflare (hosting and networking), DeepSeek (AI processing), Clerk (authentication), RevenueCat (subscription verification), and Firebase (push notifications and crash reporting). Each receives only what it needs to perform its function.
4. Storage & retention
Your data is stored on secure servers. We keep your content for as long as you keep your account. When you delete content in the app, we remove it from our systems. If you delete your account, we delete your content and associated data.
5. Your choices & rights
You can export or delete your data at any time from inside the app. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact us below and we'll respond within the time required by law.
6. Children
thread is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us their data, contact us and we'll delete it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit and at rest, least-privilege access, and regular updates — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe.
8. Changes & contact
We'll post any changes to this policy on this page, with an updated date. Questions? Reach us at hello@nexgenstudio.dev.
