Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

When you use thread, we collect the minimum needed to make it work:

  • Account information — your name and email when you sign in (via Google sign-in through Firebase).
  • Your content — the memories, notes, and voice captures you record in the app, plus the threads we build from them.
  • Device information — a push-notification token so we can deliver the insights you ask for.
  • Subscription status — whether you're on the free tier or a paid plan, verified through the app stores.

2. How we use it

Your content powers the core of thread: connecting related memories into threads and generating the daily insight. To do that, we send the relevant text to an AI processing provider. Your content is used only to serve you inside the app — we don't use it to train models or build advertising profiles.

3. What we share

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it for advertising. We use a small number of trusted processors to operate the service: Cloudflare (hosting and networking), an AI processing provider, Firebase (authentication, push notifications, and crash reporting), RevenueCat (subscription verification), and Resend (delivery of the account and product email described in section 6). Each receives only what it needs to perform its function.

4. Storage & retention

Your data is stored on secure servers. We keep your content for as long as you keep your account. When you delete content in the app, we remove it from our systems. If you delete your account, we delete your content and associated data.

5. Your choices & rights

You can export or delete your data at any time from inside the app, or request deletion on our delete account page. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, contact us below and we'll respond within the time required by law.

6. Email we send you

We send two kinds of email. Account email covers things like security notices, billing and subscription changes, and important service announcements — these are part of the service and can't be switched off while you have an account.

Product email is the optional kind: what's new in thread, tips on getting more out of it, and occasional offers such as a free period of Pro. We send this to the address on your account, and every message has a one-click unsubscribe link in the footer. You can also unsubscribe by replying to any email or writing to us at the address below. It takes effect immediately.

If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address on a suppression list so we don't contact you again. We keep that record even if you later delete your account — otherwise signing up afresh would start the mail again, which is the opposite of what you asked for. We don't sell your address or share it for anyone else's advertising.

7. Children

thread is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us their data, contact us and we'll delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit and at rest, least-privilege access, and regular updates — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours safe.

9. Changes & contact

We'll post any changes to this policy on this page, with an updated date. Questions? Reach us at hello@nexgenstudio.dev.
